Next Evolution Paintings

Truth be told, modern interior design incorporates many values of grey as neutral color. I found it difficult to incorporate gray into my paintings, attempting to accommodate current trends. I chose creating a washed charcoal appearance as opposed to gray paint, which I found a more appealing contrast to my already vibrantly colored paintings, and accomplishing my task of tying into modern interiors. A sell out? Perhaps. I make no false pretenses about not being a commercially available painter of fine art, who wants to succeed as much as the galleries representing artists.

“Dream”

Acrylic on canvas, 20″ x 16″
Asleep I dreamed entangled with vines, from encumbrance and frustration did I wake, emerging from tangled and snarled bind, when a vivid bright periwinkle flower a blaze with light, suddenly burst into bloom and broke the night.

A still life with a sunlit window with rays of sunlight, hinted at with washed charcoal rays, streaming through vivid red roses and brilliant green philodendron leaves. A bottle of red wine, a white vase, and a violet plumb on a light blue tablecloth.

“Romeo”

Romeo, Queen Mab whispering in his ear, a heart pounding with maddening desire, a fragrant scent still on his mind, that forbidden fruit leading to fateful encounter, under penalty of death and late of hour, hiding only under moon lit night, into that forbidden garden a foreshadowing dagger at his side, sweeping us into conflict and strife beyond Tybalt her brother, that would ultimately end sweet Juliet’s life.

Shakespeare's Juliet on her balcony, looking at the same moon as Romeo hiding below. She is dresses in her evening gown with both vivid and softer magentas highlighted with cyan blue sleeves and collar as she grasps a vial foreshadowing friar Laurence's sleeping potion.

“Juliet”

Juliet on her balcony under unknowingly shared moon light, Romeo below while she rests upon the rail and says into the night, oh Romeo, oh Romeo, for where art thou? A sweet scented perfume worthy of a noble family, hints a vial from friar Laurance a fragrance, but only is found empty when she finds Romeo asleep.

A multitude of brightly colored geometrical shapes and flowing abstract lines, suggesting motion of a man and woman dancing under colorful lights. A full color spectrum of light with charcoal washed negative space areas.

An art deco inspired composition with peach and creamy colors in the background, with long sweeping lines, with an abstractly formed woman in shades of brown hinting at a white cup of cappuccino.
